Six (6) cloth diaper inserts made with three (3) layers of hemp/cotton fabric. Hemp is a thirsty fabric and will absorb a lot without adding too much bulk.
-- WHY HEMP? --
* Hemp is absorbent.
* Hemp inserts are trim.
* Hemp has natural anti-microbial properties.
* Hemp is wear-resistant.
-- WHY ADD COTTON? --
* Hemp absorbs liquid slowly and often holds onto that liquid longer.
* Cotton, on the other hand, absorbs liquid faster and releases it more quickly than hemp.
* The addition of cotton speeds the absorption rate of the insert while in use and speeds the drying process during laundering.
* The addition of cotton also makes the insert softer as hemp tends to be a stiff fabric.
-- ABOUT THESE INSERTS --
Number of Inserts Included: 6
Layers: 3
Fabric Content: hemp/cotton blend, with 30% hemp and 70% cotton
Measurements: approximately 13 x 5 inches after prep
PREWASH:
Hemp must be prepped before first use to remove natural oils. Wash in hot water with a small amount of detergent between 3-5 times. Dry between each wash. The insert will shrink to size and achieve peak absorbency during this process. After the initial prep is complete, insert may be washed and dried with the rest of your diapers.
*** Please note that computer monitors display colors differently and everyone can see these colors differently. We try extremely hard to ensure our photos are as life-like as possible, but please understand the actual color may vary slightly from your monitor.
3-Layer Hemp/Cotton Blend Cloth Diaper Inserts (6-pack)
How to Care for Your Diaper & Insert
LAUNDERING instructions are printed on the wash label located inside the pocket of the diaper. Failure to follow the care instructions may cause issues with leaking or absorbency and will void the warranty.
LINE DRY your pocket diaper for best results. Repeated use of high heat in the drying process can degrade the waterproof layer over time. Diaper inserts can be washed and dried on high heat.
DO NOT use fabric softeners, diaper cream, rash cremes or lotions with your pocket diaper or insert. These products will leave a residue that will reduce absorbency.
DO NOT use bleach on your pocket diaper. For best results, line dry your pocket diaper in direct sunlight which will act as a natural bleaching agent.
How to Use Your Pocket Diaper & Insert
POCKET DIAPERS are constructed of an outer waterproof layer to prevent leaks and an inner microsuede layer to wick liquid away from baby's skin. The area between the two layers creates a "pocket" with an elasticized opening located at the top back of the diaper.
DIAPER INSERTS are constructed of absorbent material to soak up liquids and are placed inside the pocket of the diaper.
STUFFING is a term given to the process of placing the diaper insert through the pocket opening into the diaper.
TO USE: Stuff the diaper insert into the diaper through the pocket opening. Make sure the insert lays flat and is not twisted or bunched. Fasten diaper around baby to form a snug yet comfortable fit. Experiment with snap settings to get the best fit at the waist, hip and rise. When the diaper is soiled, shake any loose solids into toilet. Remove insert from pocket. Store diaper and insert in dry pail until laundering.

These are the best hemp/cotton inserts I have found to date. They are incredibly soft to the touch, but more importantly have held up so well during washes. They “bacon” slightly but hardly lose their shape, which makes them so easy to use inside of pockets. Minimal shrinkage, too. I have tried some other hemp/cotton inserts that have shrunk and “baconed” so bad in the washes that they don’t fit well in our diapers. I will be getting rid of these to buy more from Heather! Also - OUTSTANDING customer service! Upgraded my shipping to priority just because and was just so kind overall. You won’t regret this purchase!!
